Cardiology at RegionalVet

Veterinary cardiology, just like human cardiology, is a specialty in medicine that focuses on diseases that affect the heart and lungs. Congenital, valvular, pericardial, and myocardial (muscular) cardiac diseases are common among our pets and often go undetected until the disease is in advanced stages. Early and appropriate diagnosis and treatment of heart disease is essential for the best prognosis and quality of life for your pet.

The Cardiology Team at RegionalVet is trained to perform advanced non-invasive and minimally invasive diagnostics to evaluate your pet for underlying cardiovascular disease. Many cardiac diseases can be diagnosed with a simple non-invasive echocardiogram which uses ultrasound to view the structure and function of the heart.

However, for more complex cardiovascular disease, advanced color flow Doppler, vascular contrast studies, nuclear cardiovascular medicine, and Holter Monitoring may be needed. RegionalVet performs each of those.
